Welcome!

As we start a new decade, we have much to reflect on within the Food Services Division. I am proud to report the Division’s accomplishments over the last ten years:

•  The LAUSD School Board has help implement some of the highest nutrition standards in the nation.
• We have helped stabilize the rate of childhood obesity in Los Angeles County by offering students complete well-balanced meals.
• We have doubled our student’s consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables.
• We now offer Whole Grains and have no added Trans Fats.
• We have modernized 64 of our secondary schools with upgraded serving lines, modern equipment and a fresh new look.  This has significantly increased student access to meals and student satisfaction.
• We are rolling out our computerized system that will help cafeteria managers forecast orders and will eliminate the use of meal tickets.

As we continue to progress, there will be tough challenges ahead; but as long as we continue to strive to fulfill our mission of “Nourishing Students to Achieve Excellence”, we will succeed.

Our students and community depend on us and we will diligently work together with our District and community partners to continue to support student nutrition and academic performance.
