With over 20 years in the Culinary and Hospitality Industry, Chef Baida joined the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Food Services Division in August 2007. His prior experience includes Executive Chef positions at The University of Southern California and the Los Angeles Music Center. He has honed his skills by working at several top rated restaurants and by studying under several of Los Angeles’ top chefs.

The Chef Signature Series is a concept of limited time offerings for secondary schools. It is a chance for me to test the market place and learn more about our customers. Its purpose is to offer seasonal variety to our menus and give students the opportunity to find new Café LA favorites.

Student Focus Groups

Monthly Student Focus Groups are a critical part of developing student driven menus. At these events, students communicate their experiences of dining at their school along with being able to participate in food tastings for menu development. Student Focus Groups are a part of the Menu Sub-Committee of the Cafeteria Improvement Committee.
